Taxi stands are clearly signposted in the arrival areas at Changi Airport. You simply join the queue, tell the driver where you are staying and travel directly to your destination.

A journey from Changi Airport to central Singapore commonly takes around 20–30 minutes, although traffic and your exact destination will affect the journey time.

• Want a simple door-to-door journey
• Have several bags
• Are travelling with children or older family members
• Have arrived after a long flight and don’t want to navigate public transport

Prices can vary according to demand, time and vehicle availability, so I wouldn’t automatically assume Grab will always be cheaper than a taxi.

If you’re only in Singapore between flights, getting into the city is a slightly different decision.
